A stakeholder meeting was held on 10 May at the Forestry Division, where RDF presented the findings of its Technical Assessment. Particular focus was on a new process for administering the forestry concessions and licences issued. The meeting was well attended by MAFFS staff, the Ministry of Trade, Timber Associations, the National Revenue Authority, Police, the Office of National Security, FAO and the EC.
Last week, RDF installed the equipment and systems required for the Division to operate the Forestry Concessions Administration System (FCAS). Most existing licences have already been digitised, and the Division will start using the system to issue new licences.
The licence data will be made available to stakeholders in the GoSL Online Repository over the coming months.
