Concessionaires to submit GPS surveys before the end of September 2014

All concessionaires and applicants for a Concession Agreement are required to submit a GPS survey of the intended or operational area. Spatial data is currently missing for the 9 active concession agreements. The Director of Forestry has therefore written to all concessionaires asking them to submit a GPS survey of their agreement area before the end of September 2014.

This data will help the Government avoid overlapping concessions and ensure that no exploitation takes place within protected areas or national parks.

Data should be sent to the Director of Forestry, Forestry Division, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security, Youyi Building, Ground Floor, Brookfields, Freetown.
